Mobile networks are being used to an increasing degree for the capture and transmission of m2m process data. In doing so in many cases the existing cabled infrastructure will be used downstream.
mdex managed.VPN provides system operators with an integrative platform to access the relevant systems via IP – independent of the physical infrastructure being used (DSL, dial-up modem, mobile network, WLAN etc.).

Fixed IP address

mdex managed.VPN assigns an entire IP network to any system, thus each terminal device within the system (probes, control elements, sensors etc.) can be assigned a fixed IP address.

This way allows authorized participants to access the respective terminal devices at any time from any internet access. Communication setup can be initiated e.g. from the control centre. Likewise communication within the system at any time in any direction is possible if desired.

Access Control

By means of an individual firewall configuration graduated access control management can be achieved. This way, for example, a control centre can access all terminal devices, whereas certain devices can only access a limited group. The operation and administration of the mdex VPN network is managed by mdex.
