The mdex web.direct data service allows direct secure access to mobile web servers from any internet terminal world wide using the browser of your choice. No installation of additional software or any special configuration is necessary.

The mdex web.direct data service assigns permanent IP addresses to terminal devices for automation or to webcams for cctv. This allows bidirectional m2m communication via GPRS/UMTS via our private IP network.

mdex web.direct as an alternative to OpenVPN

When a terminal device has been connected to the mdex network the application on the terminal device can, in principal, be addressed from the control centre via openVPN access to the mdex network. This, however, requires the implementation of an openVPN client on the control centre device.

In many cases this is not desired because either access to the terminal device should be possible from multiple computers which do not necessarily all have openVPN clients or because access should be as easy as possible for non-expert users. 

 

 

mdex web.direct enables direct, bidirectional m2m communication without an openVPN client. It means that it is possible to access a web server on terminal devices directly via the my-mdex portal or, on request, via a dedicated customer portal.

 

As communication is managed via a private network unauthorized access is excluded. Customers require only internet access and the relevant log-in data for the my-mdex portal.

 

By using mdex web.direct mobile web servers can be accessed even from on the road directly and securely from any internet terminal world wide: Verification is carried out by means of registration and log-in to the relevant portal.
